![]() ![]() A bit more expensive than most, but also contains far more to it. Mass Effect’s DLC I believe to be one of the best examples. Once everything was connected, and the console market started feeling its expansion crushing itself by the weight of its own graphics, games needed more money to show profit for less investment. Note how when PC gaming was successful, DLC was not present. Network connections and internet connections were probably the only things limiting it earlier when the decline began for the consoles. As PC gaming diminished and sales of the saturated market started reducing, the DLC concept came about. Everyone hates hearing it, and always downvotes it, but I work in the industry, and I watched it happen. ![]() Whether you like it or not, it is what formed in the midst of the piracy times.
